Ghanaian international Andre Ayew received a heartfelt standing ovation from Olympique Marseille supporters after scoring a consolation goal for Le Havre in their 5-1 loss to Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome on Sunday.
Ayew, who spent eight years at Marseille, netted his first goal of the season in the 85th minute with a header. Despite the defeat, he chose not to celebrate out of respect for his former club. In an emotional post-match interview, Ayew expressed his gratitude to the Marseille fans, acknowledging the deep connection he still feels with the club.
He described Marseille as his "dream club," emphasizing how much the club has given him. Ayew has made 10 appearances for Le Havre this season.
