Andre Ayew remains absent from Ghana’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar, extending his time away from the national team.
Despite strong performances for Le Havre in Ligue 1, scoring four goals, head coach Otto Addo continues to overlook the 35-year-old. Ayew, Ghana’s long-time captain, last played for the Black Stars in March 2024.
His exclusion signals a shift towards younger players, though questions remain about his future with the team.
Ghana, currently second in Group I, aims to secure World Cup qualification after missing out on AFCON 2025.
The Black Stars face Chad in Accra on March 21 before traveling to Morocco to play Madagascar on March 24. Ayew will once again watch from the sidelines as Ghana fights for qualification.
