Andre Ayew set for Black Stars return

André Ayew is set to return to the Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, after nearly a year’s absence.

The 35-year-old forward has been in strong form with French Ligue 1 side Le Havre, scoring twice this season despite his team’s struggles. Ayew last played for Ghana in March 2024 during friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda, but was controversially excluded from subsequent squads, including the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

With the Black Stars facing crucial World Cup qualifiers, influential figures, including those within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), are pushing for Ayew’s reinstatement. His leadership and experience could provide a vital boost to the team’s qualification hopes.
