Vision FC’s Technical Director, Annor Walker, has retracted his pre-match comments. He admitted they were made for promotional reasons before the Ghana Premier League clash with Hearts of Oak.
Before the match, Walker confidently predicted Vision FC would score two goals in 25 minutes. He even bet his car against a piece of land from Original FM’s Gattuso if he was wrong.
However, the match did not go as planned. Vision FC trailed 1-0 at halftime. They equalized early in the second half through Mershack Adjetey, but it ended in a 1-1 draw.
In a post-match interview with Original FM/TV, Walker expressed regret about the wager. He pleaded for mercy and explained his intentions behind his bold remarks.
“I’m pleading for forgiveness,” he said. “I regret making the bet but needed to challenge myself.” He acknowledged facing an experienced coach added pressure.
Walker stated that his comments aimed to create excitement around the match. He believes this strategy worked well since many fans attended and enjoyed the game.
He emphasized that bold statements can generate interest in football matches. Walker thinks similar efforts could greatly enhance the visibility of the Ghana Premier League.
