Armwrestling: DCOP Lydia Donkor, ACI Gordon Saah, Henry Quarshie and others take over Greater Accra Armwrestling leadership

The Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) has appointed new executives. This decision aims to strengthen armwrestling in the Greater Accra region. The executives will serve a two-year term and lead the regional association.

DCOP Lydia Donkor is the new Chairperson. She is already a board member of GAF. Donkor has extensive experience as a sports administrator and law enforcement professional.

Other appointed leaders include ACI Gordon Saah as Vice Chairman. Mr. Henry Quarshie serves as Secretary, while Mr. Percy Kwesi Amuah is Treasurer. Mr. Alberto Paa Nii Aryee will handle Public Relations, and Kendrick Aryee is the Organiser. Miss Osman Maaida will be the Women’s Commissioner.

Their responsibilities include promoting armwrestling in Greater Accra. They will identify and develop local talent and organize competitions. The team also plans to collaborate with national and international organizations for athlete opportunities.

Additionally, they aim to increase participation in armwrestling across the region. Training programs for coaches, officials, and athletes are also part of their plan. They want to form armwrestling clubs in schools, communities, and workplaces.

The new executives are eager to start their work in developing the sport. "We are excited about this challenge," said DCOP Lydia Donkor. She looks forward to collaborating with all stakeholders for growth.
