Armwrestling and Fire Service forge development partnership

The Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) aims to promote fitness among security personnel. They recently met with the leadership of the Ghana National Fire Service in Accra. The goal is to develop and promote Armwrestling within the service.

GAF President Charles Osei Asibey led the meeting with Acting Chief Fire Officer Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong. They discussed strengthening Armwrestling's presence in security services. The focus is on inclusive participation for both civilians and uniformed personnel.

Both organizations agreed to identify talented firefighters for Armwrestling. The Fire Service will create an Armwrestling Club for expert coaching. This initiative aims to improve fitness, teamwork, and community engagement among firefighters.

Chief Fire Officer Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong expressed excitement about the partnership. She believes Armwrestling will enhance strength, endurance, and agility in their personnel.

Madam Daniella instructed her Human Resource Department and Sports Unit to engage with GAF immediately. They aim to recruit fire officers for participation in the sport. "We want our personnel fit and ready at all times," she emphasized.

She recalled past achievements in sports by the Fire Service. "We have produced quality national athletes before," she said. The goal is to ensure officers participate in Armwrestling again.

Daniella is confident that their personnel will excel in this sport. She believes they can bring glory to both the Ghana National Fire Service and the nation.

She concluded that this partnership could produce world champions soon. It will change how people view the Ghana National Fire Service as more than just firefighters.

President Charles Osei Asibey stated that this partnership promotes Armwrestling in Ghana significantly. He believes the new club will produce talented athletes for national and international competitions.

Acting Chief Fire Officer Ntow Sarpong was named a Patron of GAF during this visit. She received commemorative medals for her support of sports development.

This meeting marks a significant step toward collaboration between GAF and national security institutions. They aim to use sports as a platform for unity, empowerment, and national cohesion.

Present at the meeting were Vice President Dr. Kofi Addo-Agyekum, Secretary General Jesse Agyepong, Board Members Edwin Amankwah, Husseini Akuetteh Addy, Godfrey Amarteifio, and media consultant Kenneth Odeng Adade.
