Arsenal in talks to extend Thomas Partey's contract

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is close to extending his stay with Arsenal. It seems likely he will remain with the North London club next season.

The 30-year-old has had a great season without injuries. One highlight was his nomination for Arsenal's Player of the Month in October. He also performed well against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

Partey has been influential for Arsenal this season. He excels in his natural midfield position and also plays well on the right side of defense.

His contract at the Emirates Stadium is ending soon. Partey has been linked to several moves for the summer transfer window. However, Mikel Arteta wants him to stay beyond this season.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Arteta is pursuing a new deal for Partey. Talks are already underway between both parties.

So far this season, Partey has made 52 appearances in all competitions. He has scored four goals and provided three assists in the Premier League.
