Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta explains why Thomas Partey missed Everton game

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has clarified his decision to drop Thomas Partey and three other key players—Ødegaard, Saka, and Martinelli—from the starting XI in their Premier League clash with Everton.

Speaking after the match, Arteta revealed the move was a precaution following Gabriel Magalhães’ injury in their previous game against Fulham.

While Ødegaard, Saka, and Martinelli later came on as substitutes, Partey was left out entirely.

Arteta explained the squad rotation was necessary due to the demanding schedule ahead and emphasized the importance of giving all players the opportunity to contribute.

“Everyone needs to feel important,” he said. With Arsenal preparing for a high-stakes UEFA Champions League tie against Real Madrid on Tuesday night, Partey is expected to return to the starting lineup for that crucial encounter.
