Arsenal need a ‘big’ Partey performance to make Champions League final - Declan Rice 

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice believes Thomas Partey is essential for their success.

The Gunners aim for their first UEFA Champions League final since 2006. They lost to Barcelona in that match.

Currently, Arsenal trails Paris Saint-Germain by one goal. Ousmane Dembele scored during the first leg at the Emirates.

Partey returns from suspension after missing the semifinal's first leg. Rice thinks his performance will be crucial for progress.

“We need a big performance from Thomas to beat PSG,” Rice said at Tuesday’s press conference.

He added, “Playing with Thomas, I’ve noticed how calm he is on the pitch.”

Rice appreciates the calmness Partey brings to the team. “It’s special to play with him,” he said.

Partey, who joined from Atlético Madrid in 2020, is expected back for the second leg. His presence is seen as vital for Arsenal's Champions League hopes.

Discussions are ongoing about a contract extension for Partey. His current deal is nearing its end.
