Arteta keen on keeping Thomas Partey at Arsenal amid transfer interest

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to keep Thomas Partey. The Ghanaian midfielder's contract expires this summer.

Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 on a five-year deal. He is attracting interest from top European clubs like Barcelona and Juventus. Several Saudi Pro League teams are also interested.

Before Arsenal's final Premier League match against Southampton, Arteta praised Partey's season. He said, "In regards to Thomas, consistency-wise, it’s been his best season."

Arteta added that Partey's performance and fitness have been exceptional. He emphasized that Partey is an important player for the team and expressed his desire for him to stay.

This season, Partey has played in 51 matches, his highest total since joining Arsenal. He has scored four goals in all competitions, showing his value to the squad.

The 31-year-old is expected to start in Arsenal's final game of the season. Speculation about his future continues as the summer transfer window approaches.
