Arteta keen to keep Partey at Arsenal amid transfer interest

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to keep Thomas Partey at the club.

Partey's contract ends this season. He joined Arsenal in 2020 from Atletico Madrid on a five-year deal.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Partey has drawn interest from several clubs. These include Barcelona, Juventus, and teams in the Saudi Pro League.

Arteta praised Partey's performance this season. “In terms of consistency, this has been Thomas’s best season,” he said.

He added, “His performances and availability have been exceptional.” Arteta emphasized that Partey is an important player for the team. “Yes, I want him to stay.”

This season, Partey has made 51 appearances for Arsenal. This is his highest total in a single campaign with the Gunners. He has also scored four goals despite past injury issues.

The 31-year-old aims to continue his strong form against Southampton on Sunday at St. Mary’s Stadium.
