Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak have proposed key reforms to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to improve the Ghana Premier League, focusing on security, governance, and financial transparency.
They urged the GFA to take full control of security at match venues, implement the Gbadegbe Commission report, deploy more police and military personnel, and install security cameras.
They also called for improved club licensing, making the league autonomous, and fairer distribution of broadcasting revenue. Additionally, they requested VAT exemptions on match proceeds and demanded automatic representation on the GFA Executive Committee.
The proposal follows concerns over security, especially after the tragic stabbing of a Kotoko fan at Nsoatre. The clubs aim to enhance safety, governance, and financial sustainability in Ghanaian football.
