Asante Kotoko has condemned the rising violence in the Ghana Premier League following the death of supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong (Nana Pooley).

Pooley, injured in a violent altercation after Kotoko’s 1-0 loss to Nsoatreman FC on February 2, 2025, later died in hospital. The violence erupted when tensions flared after the match, with players clashing and fans attacking each other.

Nsoatreman FC supporters reportedly threw objects at Kotoko’s bench, escalating the chaos. In response, Kotoko has called for immediate action from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and law enforcement to ensure stricter security at venues. They stress the importance of protecting fans, players, and the integrity of Ghanaian football, urging that such violence never be repeated.
