Asante Kotoko eye Bechem United goalkeeper Dari Aziz Haruna as backup plan for Frederick Asare

Asante Kotoko is considering Bechem United goalkeeper Dari Aziz Haruna. He may replace Frederick Asare in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Asare, 25, joined Kotoko on a free transfer in 2022. His contract expires in June 2025. The club has agreed to renew his contract. However, uncertainty surrounds his future due to limited playing time this season.

Dari Aziz Haruna has impressed with Bechem United. He has played 27 matches in the Ghana Premier League. He conceded only 19 goals and recorded 15 clean sheets. His consistent performances have made him a standout goalkeeper this season.

In contrast, Asare has played just 15 league games this term. He kept seven clean sheets while conceding 12 goals. His limited game time affects his international prospects too. He received his first call-up to the Ghana senior national team in 2023 but hasn't debuted yet.

If Kotoko cannot finalize a new contract with Asare, they will pursue Haruna as their first-choice goalkeeper moving forward.
