Asante Kotoko to announce GPL future on Monday

Asante Kotoko will announce their decision on returning to the Ghana Premier League on Monday, February 24, 2025.

The club had suspended all first-team activities in protest after the fatal stabbing of fan Nana Pooley during a match against Nsoatreman FC.

Following discussions with the Ghana Police and the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kotoko resumed training and participated in a high-level meeting with Hearts of Oak and the GFA to improve league security.

Both clubs endorsed the GFA’s enhanced matchday safety protocols, including increased security personnel.

The meeting also advanced discussions on an Autonomous Premier League. Kotoko and Hearts of Oak pledged full compliance with updated GFA guidelines.

Kotoko will hold a press conference at Baba Yara Stadium to announce their final decision regarding their league participation.
