Asante Kotoko to hold one-week observance for late supporter Nana Pooley

Asante Kotoko has received permission from the family of the late Francis Yaw Frimpong, known as Nana Pooley, to hold a one-week observance in his memory on February 16, 2025, at Heroes Park.

Pooley, a passionate Kotoko fan, was fatally stabbed in Nsoatre during a violent incident at Kotoko’s match against Nsoatreman FC. His tragic death led to a vigil attended by fans, players, and club officials.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, prompting the suspension of the Ghana Premier League and calls for major reforms.

Several suspects, including Nsoatreman FC owner and former MP Ignatius Baffour Awuah, have been arrested and granted bail as investigations continue.
