The Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Asante Kotoko has made a decision. They will keep Karim Zito as the head coach of the club.
Zito was initially hired as the interim coach during the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. He replaced Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, who was sacked due to poor results.
Under Zito's leadership, Asante Kotoko reached the final of the MTN FA Cup. They are also in contention for the Ghana Premier League title with two games left. The team remains unbeaten since Zito took over.
Due to this success, the IMC, led by Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, decided to retain Zito for next season. If Asante Kotoko wins either the Premier League or FA Cup, they will represent Ghana in continental competitions.
Zito is known for leading Dreams FC to the semifinals of the Confederation Cup in their debut campaign. Kotoko hopes he can help them make an impact in Africa next season.
Karim Zito aims to maintain their unbeaten run when they host Medeama SC on Sunday at Baba Yara Stadium.
