Australia's seamers maintained control in the third Test against India despite heavy rain disrupting much of day three in Brisbane. Australia added 40 runs to their overnight 405-7, with Alex Carey dismissed for 70.
India's reply was delayed by rain and then quickly faltered to 22-3, with wickets falling to Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Marsh, and Josh Hazlewood. The rain returned as Rishabh Pant entered, and the afternoon and evening sessions were largely lost.
Pant was dismissed by Pat Cummins, leaving India at 51-4 at stumps. With more rain forecast, a result may be hard to achieve.
The series is tied at 1-1, with both teams needing to win two of the last three Tests for World Test Championship qualification.
