Dani Olmo and Pau Victor can play for Barcelona this season. This decision comes from Spain's National Sports Council (CSD).
Last summer, La Liga gave Barcelona temporary licenses for both players. However, these registrations were revoked later. La Liga claimed the club did not meet financial rules by the December 31 deadline.
In January, the CSD allowed Barcelona to temporarily reinstate Olmo and Victor after an appeal. On Wednesday, La Liga stated that Barcelona lacks the financial capacity to register them.
The CSD annulled the agreement between La Liga and the RFEF. The CSD confirmed that both players' registrations are valid. The RFEF acknowledged there was no resolution to cancel their licenses.
La Liga plans to appeal this decision. In a statement, they mentioned lowering Barcelona's wage cap due to accounting irregularities for the 2024-25 season.
Barcelona announced a deal on January 3 to sell VIP boxes at Nou Camp. They aim to raise 100 million euros (£83 million) to comply with Financial Fair Play rules and extend Olmo and Victor's registrations.
However, La Liga noted that this deal was not recorded in recent accounts submitted by Barcelona. The deal had been approved by a different auditor whose name remains undisclosed.
Olmo previously played in Barcelona's academy before joining Dinamo Zagreb and RB Leipzig. Last summer, Barcelona paid £52 million to bring him back. He has played 28 times this season, including 13 since the CSD's ruling.
Victor also came through Barcelona’s La Masia academy. He has made 22 appearances this term, with five since the ruling.
