Barcelona’s goalkeeping situation under Hansi Flick has been a topic of debate. After Marc-André ter Stegen was ruled out for most of the season, 34-year-old Wojciech Szczesny was brought out of retirement in October.
However, backup keeper Iñaki Peña initially retained his spot and performed well in key matches.
By January, Szczesny had taken over as the first-choice goalkeeper despite some errors.
Flick has reportedly told Sporting Director Deco that he wants Szczesny and ter Stegen as his goalkeepers next season.
With ter Stegen expected to return in April, Flick faces a decision on whether to re-register him for the Champions League.
If Szczesny stays beyond this season, Peña may leave, as contract talks have stalled since losing his starting role.
