Barcelona confirm injury to Lamine Yamal – Spanish Supercup in doubt

Barcelona confirmed that Lamine Yamal sustained an ankle injury during their defeat to Leganes on Sunday, which will keep him out for the start of 2025.

The 17-year-old was injured in the first half but was not substituted until the 75th minute as Barcelona sought an equalizer.

Yamal has a grade one ankle ligament injury and will be sidelined for three to four weeks.

As a result, he will miss Saturday’s La Liga clash with Atletico Madrid and the Copa del Rey match against Barbastro.

If the recovery takes four weeks, Yamal could return for the January 19th match against Getafe.
