Barcelona meet with Aston Villa striker's representatives as asking price set

Jhon Duran’s agent met with Barcelona sporting director Deco to discuss a potential summer move for the Aston Villa striker. Duran, 21, has impressed this season, matching his previous total of eight goals before Halloween, and earning a contract extension until 2030.

Despite Villa's efforts to ward off interest from clubs like Chelsea and West Ham, Barcelona remains interested. Duran reportedly expressed excitement about playing for the Catalan club, though he is not their top striker target.

Barcelona's current striker, Robert Lewandowski, is aging and underperforming, leading the club to explore alternatives. Villa is expected to demand £50m-£60m for Duran, a rise from the £40m he could have fetched last summer.
