Barcelona plan incredible free transfer swoop for Premier League captain

Barcelona are preparing a free transfer bid for Tottenham's Son Heung-min at the end of the season, as their financial constraints limit their transfer budget.

The club has identified Son, whose contract expires in 2025, as a key target. With Spurs unsure about offering him an extension, the 32-year-old forward can now discuss pre-contract agreements with other clubs.

Both Barcelona and Tottenham are unlikely to offer more than a two-year deal due to Son's age.

The decision will depend on whether Son, who has scored 125 Premier League goals during his nine and a half years at Spurs, is ready for a new challenge in Barcelona.
