Barcelona reach agreement in principle with defender over contract

Barcelona are set to continue securing long-term deals for their key players, with Jules Koundé reportedly agreeing in principle to extend his contract until 2030.

While the club has already addressed contracts expiring in 2026 for important players, negotiations with Frenkie de Jong remain unresolved.

Several other players, including Eric Garcia, Inaki Pena, Andreas Christensen, and Pablo Torre, also face uncertain futures.

Director of Football Deco is now focusing on those with contracts expiring in 2027, with Koundé, who currently has a deal until 2027, being one of the first to finalize a new agreement.

The 26-year-old French defender, who has been crucial for Barcelona this season, will receive a small wage increase for the extension.
