Barcelona scrape past Alaves to close gap in La Liga title race

Barcelona took advantage of Real Madrid’s loss to close the gap in La Liga with a narrow 1-0 victory over Alaves. D

Robert Lewandowski scored the only goal in the 60th minute, reacting quickly to Lamine Yamal’s deflected volley.

Alaves’ goalkeeper Jesus Owono made key saves, but Barcelona held on for the win.

The result puts them four points behind Real Madrid and three behind Atletico Madrid, who face each other next weekend.

Barcelona now turn their focus to Sevilla, while Alaves remain in the relegation zone.
