Barcelona has confirmed the sale of VIP seats at the new Camp Nou for €120m, which they hoped would allow the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for La Liga.
With their previous registrations expiring on December 31, the club sold 475 VIP seats for up to 30 years, raising funds to meet financial fair play requirements. However, despite submitting evidence of the sale before the deadline, La Liga blocked the re-registrations, prompting Barcelona to appeal.
The Spanish government has temporarily registered the players while reviewing the case. Barcelona insists the sale complies with La Liga's rules, highlighting the new VIP seat model as a secure, long-term financial asset, with investors from the Middle East involved in the deal.
