The Ghana Premier League match between Basake Holy Stars and Bechem United took an unexpected turn when Bechem United failed to appear at the Ampain Sports Arena on Thursday.
The issue began the previous day when Bechem's team bus broke down, leaving players stranded. Despite efforts to fix the bus, the club could not travel and informed the Ghana Football Association (GFA), providing hotel reservation receipts to show they intended to play.
Bechem requested a postponement, but the GFA insisted the match proceed as scheduled. Unable to participate, Bechem forfeited the game. Basake Holy Stars and officials arrived as planned, and according to league rules, Basake was awarded three points and three goals for the match.
