Bayer Leverkusen Update on Victor Boniface’s Injury Ahead of Borussia Dortmund Match

Bayer Leverkusen provided an update on Victor Boniface's injury ahead of their Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund.

Boniface has been sidelined for seven weeks due to a thigh injury sustained during a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match with Nigeria. This injury caused him to miss eight games, including five Bundesliga fixtures.

Although he had trained fully before Christmas, his return was delayed by a minor setback in his recovery. Boniface's last competitive appearance was on November 9.

During his absence, Patrik Schick impressed in attack. To bolster their forward options, Leverkusen signed Alejo Sarco from Argentine champions Vélez Sarsfield in the January transfer window.
