Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil has described LA Galaxy’s Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup victory as a remarkable achievement, particularly after overcoming Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami en route to the title.
Paintsil played a pivotal role in the final, scoring the opener against the New York Red Bulls, as Galaxy ended their 10-year trophy drought.
“It feels really great. Winning in a league with Messi, Busquets, and other top players makes it even more special,” Paintsil told 3Sports.
He added that breaking Galaxy’s decade-long title wait and earning silverware in his debut season were personal highlights.
The former Genk player joined Galaxy for the 2024 season and now aims to help the team compete for the 2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup.
