Sudan can breathe a sigh of relief as head coach James Kwesi Appiah is set to rejoin the team’s training camp in Saudi Arabia after resolving issues over unpaid wages.
The Falcons of Jediane are in the Asian country for a 12-day camp ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Appiah had initially boycotted training, but his assistants, Ignatius Osei Fosu and Eric Amponsah, arrived in camp on Thursday, signaling his imminent return. Reports indicate he will travel from Ghana to Saudi Arabia today or tomorrow.
Sudan, currently leading Group B with 10 points, will face Senegal on March 18 and South Sudan on March 24. They have also scheduled a friendly against Jordan before moving to Libya on March 17 to finalize preparations.
