Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has urged his squad to adopt a winning mentality as they prepare for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after a six-year absence. Ghana last competed in WAFCON in 2018 and has since declined in FIFA rankings.
Bjorkegren emphasized the importance of belief and teamwork among players and staff to achieve success.
Ghana has been drawn into a challenging Group C, facing defending champions South Africa, Mali, and Tanzania.
As part of their preparations, the Black Queens will play a friendly against Morocco on February 21, marking Bjorkegren’s debut on the touchline. The team aims to restore its former status when WAFCON kicks off in July.
