Bjorkegren suffers 2nd defeat as Black Queens boss in Senegal defeat

Kims Lars Bjorkegren faced his second defeat in three games. Ghana lost to Senegal in a friendly match.

The Teranga Lionesses scored a late goal to win. This was the Black Queens' second friendly this international break.

Just days earlier, Ghana lost their first encounter. Evelyn Badu scored the only goal in that game.

Five changes were made to the starting lineup for this match. Nina Norshie, Justice Tweneboah, Ernestina Abambila, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, and Princella Adubea started.

Ghana struggled in the first half and attacked little. The hosts used their physical strength effectively.

Despite this, the Black Queens held on for a 0-0 halftime score. They could not cope with Senegal's physicality but remained resilient.

After halftime, Bjorkegren made a change in goal. Kerrie McCarthy replaced Cynthia Konlan.

Chantelle nearly scored for Ghana but missed wide of the post. Abambila also saved the team by denying Senegal a lead.

In the 90th minute, Senegal broke through Ghana's defense and scored. This late goal secured their victory.

The defeat means Ghana has two losses under Bjorkegren and one win. These matches are part of their preparation for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco this July.
