Black Queens second half collapse sees them draw with Côte d’Ivoire

Ghana lost a two-goal lead in the second half. They drew 3-3 against Côte d’Ivoire in a friendly match.

Sherifatu Sumaila, Chantelle Hlorgah, and an own goal gave Ghana hope. Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren aimed for his second win.

The Black Queens scored first after 18 minutes. Sherifatu made a great strike to open the scoring.

Chantelle scored her first senior national team goal in the 41st minute. This doubled Ghana's lead to 2-0. Côte d’Ivoire pulled one back just before halftime, making it 2-1.

After halftime, Ghana looked strong and extended their lead. An own goal in the 51st minute made it 3-1.

Côte d’Ivoire fought back and reduced the deficit in the 70th minute. They equalized ten minutes later, making it 3-3.

Despite chances from both teams, no more goals were scored. The match ended in a draw at 3-3.

The two teams will meet again next week before Ghana returns home.
