Black Satellites' 2009 U-20 World Cup heroes set to collect investment cheques

SAS Finance Group has informed the Ghana Football Association about the availability of investment cheques for the 21 players of the 2009 U-20 World Cup-winning Black Satellites team.

The cheques follow the maturity of a 15-year investment made by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, amounting to GHc210,000, with each player receiving GHc10,000. The cheques can be collected at the SAS office in Accra starting January 8, 2025, with valid Ghana Card identification.

Players may also authorize a third party to collect on their behalf with a notarized Power of Attorney. In addition to the investment, the players received annual insurance coverage for life and health expenses. The Black Satellites' historic 2009 win remains Ghana's only U-20 World Cup title.
