Black Stars AFCON 2025 qualification failure painful – Fred Pappoe

Fred Pappoe, former vice president of the Ghana Football Association, discussed the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana’s poor run in the qualifiers, with three losses and three draws, led to their first AFCON absence in 20 years.

Pappoe expressed disappointment but noted that the signs of this failure were clear based on past performances.

He emphasized that the team’s struggles were evident, making the outcome unsurprising. The Black Stars will now focus on the 2026 World Cup qualifiers starting in March 2025.
