Black Stars Captaincy: The Kudus Situation was an interim one- GFA Communications Director

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has clarified the situation surrounding the captaincy of the Black Stars, particularly regarding Mohammed Kudus. GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum stated that Kudus' appointment as interim captain was intended for a specific period and will soon transition to a permanent leadership role. This decision was influenced by the absence of regular captain Andre Ayew, who is currently focused on his club commitments.

Asante Twum emphasized that the GFA supports a gradual transition in leadership to ensure stability within the team. He highlighted that while Kudus has shown commendable leadership qualities, discussions about confirming a permanent captain will take place once Ayew returns. The organization aims to foster unity among players and maintain competitive spirit as they prepare for upcoming international fixtures.
