Dr. Prince Pambo, the Black Stars team doctor, has raised concerns over the increasing frequency of Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries among football players, including Ghana's Alidu Seidu and Fatawu Issahaku.
He attributes the rise in injuries to the heightened demands of modern football, where players face intensified workloads with more games and training sessions than before.
Dr. Pambo explained that today’s players are required to perform more complex movements and cover greater distances on the pitch, increasing the risk of injury. Seidu and Issahaku are among several high-profile players sidelined for the season due to ACL injuries, alongside stars like Rodri and Marc-André ter Stegen.
Dr. Pambo’s remarks call for football authorities to reassess player schedules and implement measures to reduce injury risks.
