FIFA High-Performance Specialist Faisal Chibsah believes the Black Stars lacked desire and commitment during the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.
After a poor 2021 campaign, Ghana aimed for a better performance but exited in the group stage again, finishing with just two points.
Chibsah criticized the team’s lack of motivation, stating they played without purpose and seemed forced to be at the tournament.
He argued that the team's issues go beyond technical aspects. Following the tournament, Chris Hughton was sacked and replaced by Otto Addo on a three-year deal.
However, Ghana’s struggles continued as they failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, finishing bottom of Group F with three points after six games in the qualifiers.
