Black Stars is now a disgrace - Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has criticized the poor performance of the Black Stars, calling for a change in the technical team.

Ghana has struggled in recent years, failing to progress past the group stage in the 2021 and 2023 AFCON tournaments and missing qualification for the 2025 AFCON under Otto Addo.

During a visit by Sports Minister Kofi Adams to Manhyia Palace, Otumfuo expressed disappointment, labeling the team a “disgrace” and urging officials to appoint a competent technical team.

He also emphasized the need to select committed players based on merit rather than affiliations.

Despite their AFCON failure, the Black Stars will regroup for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar, hoping for a turnaround in form.
