Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and French soccer star Michel Platini will appear in a Swiss court on Tuesday. They will find out if they will be acquitted or convicted of corruption.
Blatter and Platini were once powerful figures in global soccer. They are going to the Extraordinary Appeals Chamber of the Swiss Criminal Court. This hearing comes 2-1/2 years after they were acquitted of fraud.
Swiss federal prosecutors disagreed with the lower court's decision from 2022. This disagreement led to the new hearing in Muttenz, near Basel. Both men deny the charges against them.
