Sports Minister Kofi Adams has expressed gratitude to the boxing enquiry committee. This committee investigated the death of Nigerian boxer Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewaju.
Adams spoke after receiving their report, which was submitted on time. The committee was formed in April following Olanrewaju's death during a bout on March 29.
The seven-member committee was led by Major Retired Amarkai Amarteifio. In a media interaction, Adams praised their commitment and efforts.
He stated, “I’m impressed with your commitment. It will not go in vain.” He also thanked them on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.
Olanrewaju collapsed during his match and later died at Korle-Bu Hospital. He was 40 years old and had been a former National and West African light-heavyweight champion.
