Boxing icon and two-time world heavyweight champion George Foreman has passed away at the age of 76.

Known as Big George, he built one of the most remarkable careers in the sport, winning Olympic gold in 1968 and securing the heavyweight title twice, 21 years apart.

Foreman lost his first title to Muhammad Ali in the famous Rumble in the Jungle fight in 1974 but later made history as the oldest heavyweight champion, reclaiming the title at age 45 in 1994. His professional record boasted 76 wins, including 68 knockouts.

Beyond boxing, Foreman became a successful entrepreneur with the George Foreman Grill, which earned him more wealth than his boxing career.

His family described him as “a devoted husband, father, preacher, and a force for good” in a heartfelt statement.

Tributes have poured in, with Mike Tyson hailing Foreman’s lasting impact and The Ring Magazine calling him “one of the greatest heavyweights of all time”*.
