Union Berlin's Bundesliga match against Bochum was suspended for nearly 30 minutes after Bochum's goalkeeper, Patrick Drewes, was hit by an object thrown from the crowd. The incident occurred in the second minute of stoppage time, with the score 1-1.
Drewes was struck by a cigarette lighter, causing him to kneel in pain. The match was halted for medical attention, and players were sent to the dressing rooms.
When play resumed, Bochum's Philipp Hofmann took over as goalkeeper, but neither side attempted to score, passing the ball until the final whistle.
Bochum's management criticized the referee's decision not to abandon the match, arguing they were at a disadvantage. Union Berlin identified and handed the responsible fan to the police.
