The Miami Heat traded Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors in a multiteam deal on Wednesday night, ending his tenure with the team.
This move followed failed negotiations with the Phoenix Suns to bring Kevin Durant back to Golden State, after Durant declined to return. Butler will decline his $52 million player option and sign a two-year, $111 million deal with the Warriors.
In return, the Heat receive Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, and a top-10 protected 2025 first-round pick. Dennis Schroder is traded to the Utah Jazz, while P.J. Tucker joins the Heat. Lindy Waters III and Josh Richardson are sent to the Detroit Pistons.
