Côte d'Ivoire U20 coach Younes Zerdouk has acknowledged Ghana’s strong history in youth football ahead of their CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Group A clash.
The tournament, running from April 26 to May 18, features Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, DR Congo, Tanzania, and a yet-to-be-determined Central African team.
Zerdouk described the group as tough, highlighting Ghana’s pedigree, including their 2009 U-20 World Cup triumph with André Ayew’s generation. He also noted Tanzania’s recent progress and expects every match to be a challenge.
The tournament's four semi-finalists will qualify for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
