CAF has updated its player registration rules for the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, now allowing clubs to sign players who have already played in either competition within the same season.
This aligns CAF's regulations with UEFA's, where players can switch clubs and still participate in continental tournaments.
The move aims to improve the competitiveness and appeal of CAF's top competitions for fans, broadcasters, and sponsors.
It is also expected to enhance the quality of African clubs in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in 2025, set to be held in the United States.
Additionally, CAF has extended the player registration deadline to February 28, 2025.
