CAF increases CHAN prize money to $3.5m

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a significant increase in the Prize Money for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda 2024.

The winner will now receive USD 3.5 million, a 75% boost from previous years.

Additionally, the total Prize Money for the tournament has been raised to USD 10.4 million, marking a 32% increase.

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe highlighted the importance of this competition in developing African football talent and enhancing the continent's global competitiveness.

CHAN Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda 2024 will kick off on February 1, 2025, with 17 teams already qualified, and two more teams set to join after the remaining qualifiers.
