AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale praised the team after their 3-2 victory over Inter in the Supercoppa Final, a win that marked their 50th trophy and the first under RedBird management.
Cardinale congratulated the players, emphasizing the special significance of winning a derby and urged them to carry the momentum back to Italy to improve their Serie A standing.
Though Cardinale was not in Riyadh, RedBird advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic conveyed the owner's message to the team.
Milan, under new coach Sergio Conceiçao, are currently competing for a Champions League spot and will play Cagliari next in Serie A on January 11.
The team's victory against Inter also followed their recent successes under Conceiçao's leadership.
