Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti addressed fans’ frustrations after their 5-2 extra-time victory over Celta Vigo on Thursday.

Following the heavy 5-2 defeat to Barcelona, the Santiago Bernabeu crowd expressed their displeasure by whistling at players like Vinicius Junior, Lucas Vazquez, Ferland Mendy, and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Ancelotti viewed the whistles as a “wake-up call” for the team, acknowledging the fans’ right to voice concerns. Despite the criticism, he praised Tchouameni’s performance, emphasizing his defensive contributions and resilience. The midfielder later posted on Instagram, hinting at personal growth with the caption, “What doesn’t kill you…”

Analyzing the match, Ancelotti attributed late defensive lapses to low focus and poor positioning, which allowed Celta Vigo to score twice before Real Madrid regained control in extra time. Looking ahead, Los Blancos will face Las Palmas on Sunday without suspended Vinicius Junior.
