Former England defender Jamie Carragher believes West Ham United is struggling this season. He attributes their issues to Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus's decline in form.
Kudus had a strong debut season in 2023/2024. He joined from Ajax and contributed 14 goals and assists combined. His performance helped West Ham finish well in the league and Europa League.
This season, Kudus has only four goals and two assists in 29 league games. Carragher noted, "One reason why West Ham are where they are is his form." He added that Kudus does not look like the same player as last year.
Carragher suggested that Kudus might be sold at the end of the season. West Ham may need funds, and top European clubs are interested in him. “I wouldn't be surprised if there was a change,” he said.
He concluded by saying other clubs might see this as an off-season for Kudus. Last season showed his potential as a player.
